Water Outlet Temperature Tests
It is essential the that temperature of all hot & cold water outlets within a property are
maintained within a safe range, and are routine flushed, in order to prevent the
formation of Legionella bacteria.
We provide water outlet testing services in accordance with the recommendations set
out within The Health & Safety Commission (HSC) approved code of practice: The
control of Legionella within the workplace which recommends that all water outlets
should be tested in accordance with the following procedures:
· Cold water outlets: A temperature of under 20 degrees centigrade must be
maintained for 2 minutes (in order to inhibit the development of Legionella
bacteria)
· Hot water outlets: A temperature of 50 degrees centigrade must be reached
within 1 minute (in order to kill Legionella bacteria)
A full record of all water outlets at a property is undertaken prior to the
commencement of these services.
Specific testing and reporting arrangements are established based upon the water
risk assessment for the property and your specific requirements.
